WEEK 1 DATE 9/9/2013 – 13/9/2013
Selecting a compatible circuit
During the last semester, an Engineering Design subject purposes for to teach us on how to be ready for the upcoming Final Year Project. During the duration taking the subject we decided to select the tittle of our project and that is Automatic Pet Feeder. the purposes for our diploma subject is to study and research on the project that been select.
Picture 1
In the Picture 1 shows the circuit that we
selected for our project when taking the Engineering Design last semester. The
reason that this circuit is suitable with our project is because it has a
display of the time and also a setting alarm system that can be set suitable
for the automatic system for the pet feeder. This is originally based on the
Elektor Magazine that tittle for Digital Alarm Clock. Thus this circuit from
the www.nurhazwaniramli.blogspot.com improved by adding a relay. The relay will
act as switch to turn on a 12 DC motor to flow out the pet food.

Figure 2
Figure 2 shows an Alarm
clock circuit. The user uses the Arduino Uno as its controlled system for the
circuit. Using and Arduino Uno
controller to controller the timer and using the RTC clock module for a
smoothing producing output at the 7 segment.
Advantages: using an Arduino Uno for using the open
source Code: - Referrer at the www.arduino.cc for more information.
Also using a 7segment 4 digit for conserving spaces at the strip board
Disadvantages: The circuit
does not use any type of motor and specifically function only as an Alarm
Clock.

2 date 16/9/2013 – 20/9/2013
Deciding and improving the circuit.
After meeting with our adviser and
having discussion of our project, we decided to choose the circuit from the figure 2. Why..?
Ø Because using the Arduino
Uno will make us easier to do the code programming for the alarm clock system.
Ø Because our supervisor
recommended by the lecturer to use the Arduino so that to develop and study
more on new components and suitable in the modern era.
Ø To AVOID any damages on
all the component that been use in the circuit
Ø The circuit also makes it
look like it’s not using a large space on the design structure and making the
project lighter.
The improvement in this circuit is,
since the circuit doesn’t have a motor to drop of the food, we added the
circuit with a stepper motor so that is compatible with our objective for this
project. The arduino that we will be using is the latest model of arduino uno
R3. The arduino R3 specification is much more
Problem Statement
When studying the circuit from the figure 2, the
problem that we encounter is that all the PWM pins on the arduino uno have been
used for driving the IC 74HC595 for the output 7- segment 4digit.

Finally we decided
to build and test everything on strip boards, the main reason that we build it
on the strip board is that we can identified the place where we can punt the
stepper motor position.

The Briefing
The briefing was to
guide and the procedure during the presentation day at the industrial day. The
briefing also give us the on the important details that we inform on the
industrial day.
Thanks for sharing nice information with us. i like your post and all you share with us is uptodate and quite informative, i would like to bookmark the page so i can come here again to read you, as you have done a wonderful job. automatice pet feeder

ReplyDeleteDude your article is really good and have a great amount of information related to dog food dispensers. If needed interested individuals can click here or visit our official website https://app.box.com/s/6yj1n50lkplmbfpm6t4l1fus5b88j63q in order to know about .
ReplyDeleteI’ve been using an automatic dog feeder for months, and it’s been a lifesaver! It eliminates the worry of missing meal times, which is great for my dog’s routine. Many modern feeders also have features like app control and customizable settings, which make feeding so easy and precise. Whether you’re at work or out running errands, you can rest assured your pet is well-fed. Highly recommend for peace of mind!
